Stacy Harrington is a dedicated educator and exhibiting artist based in southeastern Connecticut. Working in a struggling public school system for almost a decade, and having watched students struggle and grow from their experiences leaves a mark in her perception of these places. Physical spaces and objects often trigger these memories through the residue that human experience leaves behind. Deteriorating architecture and landscapes that show evidence of the passage of time influences her paintings. She is interested in the juxtaposition and conversation between the reality, signified by found objects, and the memory, represented by the painted surface. She has a BFA from Montserrat College of Art, a Post Bachelor Certification in Art Education from Central Connecticut State University and an upcoming MFA in Studio Art from The University of the Arts.
